Monotheism in Rigveda? Yes it is there!

Many a times we hear some ignorant people (especially enemies of Indian culture) ranting about Hindus being "ignorant pagan polytheists", "natives worshipping monkeys and elephants" and "illiterate fools". To them.. I would say nothing. They don't deserve being answered for their OWN ignorance. Rather, let's look within ourselves for a moment.

Is there monotheism in Rgveda? The answer is yes! Here I cite before you a couple of verses straight from Rgveda (Griffith's translation FYI).

All living things they part and keep asunder; though bearing up the mighty Gods they reel not. One All is Lord of what is fixed and moving, that walks, that flies, this multiform creation.
- Prajaapati [for Vishvedevas]
Book III, Verse 8, Hymn 54, Rgveda

They call him Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Agni, and he is heavenly nobly-winged Garutman. To what is One, sages give many a title they call it Agni, Yama, Matarisvan.
- Diirghatamasa [for Vishvedevas]
Book I, Verse 46, Hymn 164, Rgveda
